LG just ahead of its G4 flagship launch on Tuesday has made the LG Magna available to buy in India at Rs. 16,500. The smartphone was launched globally during MWC 2015 in February along with the LG Joy, the LG Leon, and the LG Spirit.

Display and Build

The LG Magna flaunts a 5-inch TFT multi touch display with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels (HD) leading to a pixel density of 294ppi. It is housed in a 10.2mm thick metallic outfit which has a gently curved rear panel that enables you to grip it more comfortably. Even the display is slightly curved and enjoys slim bezels leading to a screen to body ratio of 70.6%.

Configuration and OS

On the inside, the LG Magna is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with a 1GB RAM for smooth management of standard tasks. One of the key highlights of the device is its software platform, which will be the latest Android v5.0 Lollipop OS. The support for Glance View feature lets you view time and important notifications even when the screen is off.

Camera and Storage

The LG Magna comes with an 8MP autofocus camera and LED flash at the back along with a 5MP front facing snapper for delivering quality selfies and sound video calling experience. With the Gesture Shot feature, you can easily capture selfies simply by making gestures. It has an internal memory of 8GB which is further expandable up to 32GB.

Battery and Connectivity

The LG Magna draws the required amount of fuel from a sealed 2,540mAh Li-Po battery. On the connectivity front, it is packed with options like 4G LTE (specific markets), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB port and GPS.

Verdict

The LG Magna is a handsome looking 5-inch smartphone which claims to offer some of the brand’s premium features at an affordable price. These features include Gesture Shot, Glass View and curved HD display. It also offers access to the latest benefits of Android Lollipop OS.
