The existence of two larger variants of the HTC One M9 has been all but confirmed. One is the big, plastic-bodied HTC One E9, the other is the equally large but aluminum-bodied variant: what we now know will be called the HTC One M9 Plus. As expected, even more leaked pictures have emerged, showing the finger scanner and gigantic camera lens. We’ve also now got word that there will be no Snapdragon variant of the One M9+. Display and Build
The HTC One M9 Plus flaunts a 5.2-inch Super LCD3 multi touch display which is bound to make your eyeballs go numb with QHD resolution (1,440 x 2,560 pixels) that leads to a pixel density of 534ppi. The Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on the top keeps it fresh and free from scratches and smudges.
It exhibits a luxurious appearance in its unibody all metallic outfit which has a waistline of 9.6mm and a weight of 168g. The dual stereo speakers on the front powered by HTC BoomSound and Dolby Audio technologies render rich multimedia experience. One of the key attractions of this device is the single touch fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button below the display.
Processor and OS
The HTC One M9 Plus becomes the first ever smartphone to drive processes with MediaTek’s premium Helio MT6795T chipset carrying a 64-bit 2.2GHz octa-core processor. Together with a 3GB RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU, it renders uncompromising performance. It sails on HTC Sense UI 7.0 based on Google’s latest Android v5.0 Lollipop OS.
Camera and Storage
The HTC One M9 Plus carries a 20.7MP autofocus rear camera supporting dual LED flash and other high quality presets and having the ability to record ultra HD videos at 30fps. It is accompanied by a 4 ultra pixels camera at the front. It boasts of 32GB of internal memory which is further expandable up to 128GB.
Battery and Connectivity
The HTC One M9 Plus is fuelled by a sealed 2,840mAh Li-Po battery. Connectivity and networking features include 4G LTE Cat6 (specific regions), 3G, Wi-Fi 5GHz, Bluetooth v4.1, DLNA, GPS/A-GPS, USB port and GLONASS.
Verdict
The HTC One M9 Plus is a premium flagship smartphone oozing with brilliance in every department. It’s intriguing in terms of looks and mighty in terms of performance. Go for this if you are high on budget.
