After announcing it back in January, with mass production due to begin in March, Xiaomi has finally launched the top-end Xiaomi Mi Note Pro phablet – making it available to buy in China from May 12 at CNY 3299 (approximately Rs. 32,900). Company CEO Lei Jun, who launched the handset at an event in Beijing on Wednesday, did not reveal when the Mi Note Pro would become available outside the region.

 Design & Display

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro carries an incredible 5.7-inch IPS multi touch display which is bound to leave you stunned with high clarity and ultra vibrant colours from all directions with QHD resolution (1,440 x 2,560 pixels, 515ppi pixel density) and super thin lateral bezels.
Both the back and front panels of the device are made up of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 thereby staying fresh forever. While the front one is made of 2.5D glass and has smoothly rounded corners, the rear panel has a 3D glass. It has a weight of 161g and a  thickness of just 7mm, which is very impressive considering its big size.

Configuration & OS

The highlight of the Mi Note Pro is that it packs an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz) alongside 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 430 GPU.

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro phablet runs MIUI6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

Camera & Storage

Other specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro are identical to the Mi Note include a 13-megapixel rear camera with a six-element lens, OIS, a Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor, Qualcomm 14-bit image processor, and two-tone flash from Philips, and a 4-megapixel front-camera with large 2-micron pixels.

For storage purpose it has 64GB of built-in storage without expandability via microSD card.

Battery & Connectivity

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is backed by a 3090mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which charges the handset by 70 percent in an hour. On the connectivity front, it supports USB Host, GLONASS, 4G (selected markets), 3G, Wi-Fi 5GHz, Bluetooth v4.1, USB port and GPS/A-GPS.

Verdict

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is a premium phablet which is stylish on the outside and has the power to render computer like performance. It also boasts of quality cameras, latest connectivity features and 64GB internal memory but lacks any expandable memory.
