Finland’s Nokia on Tuesday announced the Nokia N1, what the company is calling the “first Nokia-branded Android tablet.” The tablet will be launched in China in Q1 2015 with a brand-licensing agreement extending to an OEM partner (Foxconn) that will manufacture, distribute, and sell it.
The Nokia N1 will cost $249 (roughly Rs. 15,400) before taxes, and will be made available in other markets globally.

Display and Design
The Nokia N1 shows off a crisply designed 7.9-inch full laminated display with zero air gap that leads to provide superior image quality and utmost transparency while increasing responsiveness. The IPS LED backlit multi touch panel offers razor sharp visuals and accurate colors with a stunning resolution of 1,536 x 2,048 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi. And the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.0 enhances your screen’s protection.
It is wrapped in an one-piece aluminium body which resists blows and scratches easily courtesy the surface anodization. It is extremely sleek at 6.9mm and tips the scale at 318g. Such a light and robust chassis gives you the liberty to lug around with it at ease. It is available in lava gray and natural aluminium colors.

CPU and OS
The Nokia N1 features a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 chipset bearing a 2.3GHz quad-core processor. Assisted by a mighty 2GB LPDDR3 RAM, it boasts of computer like performance at anything you throw at it. The PowerVR G6430 graphics unit injects life into games and videos on the superb display. It runs on the much awaited and the latest Android v5.0 Lollipop platform.
Camera, Storage and Others
The Nokia N1 packs an 8MP autofocus camera which supports geo-tagging and supports full HD video recording. On the front, there is a 5MP snapper and digital microphone for memorable video calling. It boasts of a massive 32GB internal memory but lacks any microSD port.
One of the key highlights of the device is the predictive Nokia Z launcher which enables the user to find the desired content simply by typing one or two letters thereby making the device extremely easy to user. It also houses two speakers of 0.5W each.

Battery and Connectivity
The Nokia N1 sips juice from a non removable 5,300mAh Li-Po battery. On the connectivity front, we have Wi-Fi a/b/n/ac 5GHz, USB port, Bluetooth v4.0 and reversible Type C connector.
Verdict
The Nokia N1 marks the re-entry of a brand which was certainly the most sought after mobile company at a time. And the new device clearly indicates that it has the power to stun people even now. It boasts of high quality tablet experience with the latest Android Lollipop OS, 64-bit Intel processor plus 2GB RAM, all packed in a sleek and light body. The lack of microSD slot is the sole bone of contention.
